Okay for one...
Never ever go out with someone to make someone else jealous! Especially if you don't like the person. Because not only is that really immature but it makes that person that your going with think that your interested when your really not. I'm not trying to criticize you I'm just trying to give you very valuable advice.
Now as far as him being your best friend...it could ttyl ruin your friendship. And your ex-boyfriend...he won't get jealous he'll just move on. Your just hurting yourself in this situation, and your hurting your best friend.
So plz liston to me when I tell you this...
talk to your friend and tell him whats going on. If he's really your friend, he'll ttyl understand. And sure it'll hurt him at first but he'll heal over time. And better now then later.
Oh and try not to worry about it so much after words, your only in 6th grade! Sure you think your older now but you really have no idea what grown up is. Just wait a little to get into this kind of stuff okay?
Trust me it'll all be worth it!
p.s.
I would stay single for a while if I were you.

The trying to make him jealous may backfire on you...Your young learn this now, it not a good thing to play people like that. If you still like the ex boyfriend, try talking to him...If you to are not meant to be, you can move on...I'm not trying to be mean to you, just honest. Also please, please enjoy being a kid right now, there will be plenty of time to date later...How about having guy friend, friends you can go to the movies with, the mall whatever...There is no need for you to have a "boyfriend" right now...Wait til you old and you have some hubby to take care of, you will understand what im trying to say here...Just please be a kid for now...

wait until you are at least 18 to worry about boys. In the meantime go watch cartoons, don't use drugs, and stay in school.

You should focus on your education! BREAKING NEWS: Boys are NASTY...All little girls should wait till they are older (21+) to date. It will never last with any of those boys so quit fantasizing about being with them and focus your dreams! You get diseases from pecking, too!
