Good question. Men are visual. Not looking at a striking woman, is like trying to ignore a bad smell. All men can control themsleves, but some have more will than others. Hope this explains.

About as hard and not staring at a two headed person,

Women do this but it is more like a scanner kind of thing.
Woman: Scanning.. done, OK I know what you got.
Man is more like an old camera. Hold still till the film develops.

Woman: Honey you act like you never seen b00bs before.
Man: You don't understand, I haven't seen THOSE b00bs before.

It is hard not to stare. Nature is set up for maximum procreation. Heterosexual men are biologically programmed to spread their seed widely. An attractive woman attracts. DUH!

However, in most cases, after the deed is done, the same biological program directs male attention to the next 'recipient' of his interest. So the staring and longing start right up again.

Fighting nature is a losing battle. It is silly to think "well, if I were a better person I'd have eyes only for my honey." Sexual attraction is nature doing her job, and is a sign of health. Acting on sexual interests in a way that breaks up a valued relationship is another story, of course.

Maturity is the ability to recognize and not fight natural attractions, appreciating them but not being driven by them to harm oneself and one's loved ones.

In my case, not hard. I tend to glance at every person walking by, but I don't stare at anyone. I don't feel the desire to since I have a wonderful girlfriend :)

Impossible. Their eyes would have to be gouged out for them not to stare. But that's the worse case scenario.

REAL MEN stare. It's the law of the jungle. It doesn't mean we don't love you honey. You're the only one baby!
