Start with a quote. You could mention how we are possibly about to see the first female US president, and use this quote:

Barbara Bush, First Lady
[at Wellesley College Commencement] Somewhere out in this audience may even be someone who will one day follow in my footsteps, and preside over the White House as the President's spouse. I wish him well!

Also note that other nations have woman presidents already!

what type of speech is it? Try a statistic. Or use some other type of shocking fact, like that over half of today's engineers are women...but you might want to verify that with someone, because it was just an example. And cite your source, it's part of the grade usually.

I would look for some predictions of the future of women written back in the 1950s. Bring those to light. Theyre good for a few laughs and then you can do your crystal ball show.

well you might want to start out by giving history on the past growth of women in general and their earned rights throughout history. Women fought for the power they have to today and their still fighting.

Start by showing how far women have come so far.

Show a powerpoint of your great grandmother.
"This is my great grandmother. Her husband has left the house to go down to vote. She stayed home to pluck the chicken, feed the kids, .... She doesn't have to work. Rather, she doesn't have a career. Her work is her home. She is judged by her ability to keep her home and her husband. She had a lot of friends who knew her as Margaret Smith, but when she married she changed her name to Johnson. By showing how far women have come it will help them believe what your opinion of the future is.

People are usually attracted to topics by questions, riddles, or quotes because the brain automatically looks for an answer in asking.

A woman says to another, "Who was that man I saw you with?" and the woman replies. "That was no man, that was my husband". This could be the world of the future as role reversal expands around the globe.

if you intend to start your speech humorously, try: "four score and seven years ago...". if its for a class try by starting your speech with something interesting about your subject through a question. or for something formal: "ladies and genlemen..."
