Both are good products as far as I've experienced. Carmex works wonders on cold sores and it's cheap. Blistex has so many options and is still reasonably priced. Cheap can be good some times, at least with these two!

Not a fan of Carmex, too gooey. I like Blistex better - particularly from stick. Both my daughter and husband really like Carmex. I'm afraid I was raised on Chapstick. I mentioned needing some a couple of months ago - I usually use the strawberry/cherry flavor. My husband bought some - the plain kind. I opened it up and immediately thought of my dad - he always carried a stick of plain ole chapstick around in his pocket. Now every time I get it out I think of him and it makes me smile.

Blistex seems to usually be more medicated or maybe have more menthol? Carmex seems to be more vaseline based with some menthol...but not much. I like them both. I also recently bought Bath and Body Works version called My favorite lip balm or something - it is pretty good too.

I dont like either one.. because they are made from Petroleum which is made from the same thing they make gasoline from- Crude Oil. I'd think twice before I'd put gasoline on my lips... just like I think twice about Petroleum based products like Carmez and Blistex.

I would try something with natural ingredients. www.emergenaturals.com
