Well that depends on if you exercise in the evening. Since sugar is not a complex carb, it tends to be stored as fuel if it is not expended by some means. If you have an active metabolism then you might be OK, if not, then 15 minutes of exercise in the evening, at least 1 hour before bed will work towards counteracting the caloric effects of the sugar.

It kind of depends on what else you are eating. If that is the only thing you have in the evening then no you won't get fat. Plus there is no calories in coffee, and only 15 calories in a tablespoon of sugar.

Not sure on the calories. You can check the can of coffee and the brown sugar bag or box. It'll tell you the fat calories on both. I've heard if you eat or drink anything with fat calories-stop 3 hours before bed. Otherwise it's harder to burn off. Seems to work for myself and my family.

Why are you drinking coffee at night? With or without sugar, it is a stimulant and will disrupt your sleep.

If you must have your dinner-time stimulant, consider replacing the sugar, which has a high glycemic index, with a dab of vanilla ice cream, which is much lower and so will not help your body build fat cells as easily. As a bonus, dairy food is a soporific and can counteract the caffeine allowing you to rest.
