165 grain.

Because it's a better all-purpose weight and since you didn't didn't specify a purpose - there ya go.

The grain has nothing to do with the rifle...It has to do with what you are hunting and what kind of area you are hunting in. If it is deer us a 150 or 165. If it is bigger like a elk use the 180.

You have two real good answers already here. The 165 travels faster,flatter but is limited to smaller game. The 180 carries farther, with a lot more penetration and is used for large game.

Note weight of the projectile and construction determines the size game it is used for.
Bigger the projectile and tougher the construction the bigger the game.
To me the 180 is for Elk, Moose, and medium Bear. Helps in penetration and nock down.
The 165 is all I use for all deer, black bear and wild Hog .
130 and 110 are for varmint hunting
