Sounds like the Sleep Number bed. I don't have one. I've heard that it has a lot of air inside it, and the air makes it possible to have each side a different firmness.

Coincidentally just purchased the "Cadillac" of beds. It's called the Serta Allusion. We got a great deal at 1,700.00. Was 3,400.00. We've been researching for a new bed quite a long time. You're speaking of the tempurpedic. The wine glass not spilling thing right? This Serta has memory springs, than a layer of tempupedic, than 2 air bladders. (not to be confused with the sleep number bed) this you can release air with just the push of a little button to the comfort level you like. The pump comes with the bed and is about the size of a coffee mug. No wires,or keypads needed. then there's another level of the tempurpedic than a pillowtop. Maybe because I've been sleeping on a real crappy bed these past years but this thing is unbelievable. I would recommend it highly. I'm a tosser, my wife doesn't even know I'm flopping around on my side. (Hell, I bet I could probably sneak someone in without her knowing it. LOL !!) Seriously though give it a look see. Also be careful with going with just the tempurpedic, if your bedroom gets warm it softens up quite a bit and the reverse if the bedroom gets cold.

you can either chose to buy a brand name and pay for their advertising in the "bowling ball" effect, or you can go with a good quality with a reasonable price: Restonic. They were rated the number one mattress brand in the reader's digest for quality and price three years in a row. They have one called "The Barrington" that has individual pocketed nylon coils that produce the no-transfer motion that you want. One person get get in the bed without the other feeling any motion. This bed is not soft and plush like a memory foam, but will last longer than one, has a really nice pillow top that won't sag, and a firm edge support. They usually run UNDER a thousand, my grandma loves it! Try Bedroomswest.com

We call it the bowling ball mattress, b/c they drop a BB on it and the other side doens't move.

We had one... they tend to get "swales" in them where the 2 of you sleep, w/ a big hill in the center. Be sure to ask about support beans under the boxsprings or how to prevent this, or warranty if it happens.

Simmons Beautyrest with individually pocketed coils. It's the bowling ball bed, if you remember those commercials!
Also the temporpedic, which is a slab of foam.

Sterns & Foster has been a goodie one for us for some 7 years. It isn't cheap, but it is very good.
