I've had a lot of patients ask that same question plenty of times. Especially the smokers, coffee and tea drinkers. Out of all the whitening toothpaste on the market now, I still prefer Rembrandt. Some of the other ones are just too abrasive on the enamel of your teeth. Hope you give it a try, I know it's kind of pricey, but it does work well. Good luck!
Please don't use anything that could cause excessive sensitivity (which could land you at the dentist office for and emergency visit) or DAMAGE TO THE ENAMEL!

#1 Brush your teeth for three minutes twice a day. I've found that an electric toothbrush makes things easier, more fun, and more effective.
#2 Brush your teeth quickly (just twenty seconds or so) every time you eat, or at least swish with water for a little while.
#3 Stop drinking coffee, or at least make sure to brush extra well after drinking it.
#4 Look in the toothpaste aisle at your grocery store for a whitening gel (my store sells it for under $10.). I don't mean a whitening toothpaste (these don't stay on long enough to work). I mean either one of two things: A gel which comes with a brush (it kind of looks like nail polish), or something that looks like toothpaste but says it is meant to stay on the teeth for several minutes (NOT a toothpaste). Use this once a day, brushing your teeth first, blotting it with toilet paper, applying it to the fronts of your teeth, then not closing your lips for 5-10 minutes (it looks goofy, but this gives you enough time to let it dry :D)
Good luck--you should see results in a month or so.

If you really want ultra white teeth I would go some where and have it done. There is no product on the market that can compete with what they do. I have tried the Aquafresh Treys and the Crest White Strips and they do work a little bit but leave your gums hurting pretty bad. The professional's use an ultra violet laser type thing that is awesome and your teeth when you leave that office will be as white as can be!

Try over-the-counter products, which have low concentrations of hydrogen peroxide. A dental tray and gel kit can be used for a short time each day to lighten teeth one to two shades in two weeks, at best. Whitening strips cover the six front teeth--which must be even--for similar results, and keep peroxide on teeth and off gums. Paint-on gels get similar results and cover more teeth, but can be messy to use. Hydrogen peroxide works faster than carbamide, but takes longer to get results and deactivates faster. These are the least-expensive treatments to use when staining reoccurs due to beverages and smoking.

Make a paste out of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide, the lowest strenght available at the drug store and brush. This comes from a dentist in PA

I would say avoid staining bevereges..like coffee, tea, and soda. And, brush three times per day...or after drinking anything that stains. Also..those whitening mouth washes seem to work, and also Arm & Hammer Whitening Toothpastes.
White Teeth CAN be yours too! Good luck!

Hello,
A set of shiny beautiful whites is one of the most appealing belongings anyone can have. It transmutes assurance, assurance and self worth. This is key as our perceptive health is likely the most important part of our lifestyles.

I read somewhere that you could hold peroxide in your mouth for a few minutes each day. I've never found anything that really works well.

I just dip my toothbrush in a little bit of comet after applying the toothpaste. I do this every few months and it works great.
