Take notes - organized yourself into a colour code system. Develop stay-put places for things - like a key post on your wall, a dish by the door, where you can put your wallet and your glasses - always put them there. Post-it notes work well too. But, I also think you may want to get things checked out - make sure you don't have something more serious going on - maybe a learning disability. Don't be afraid - it can only help.

I would suggest, writing things down. If you have a calendar, write important things in there. If you have a mobile phone, with a calendar, use that also. With your Keys, place them in one spot like by the door when you are at home. Your wallet should go in the same spot. Glasses are a hard one. maybe when you aren't using your glasses, put them in a spot by the bed.

don't know but i've had to use post it notes since high school! (and i didn't smoke pot!) so if you find the answer PLEASE let me know!! i can't remember anything i forget appointments even though i write them down i leave my money at home sometimes and it's embarrassing because i get into the check out line then realize i don't have any money. i forget what time i'm supposed to work i forget to return phone calls. hell i've even forgotten to pay bills!!! for appointments i use my cell phone to remind me (it has an events calender and i can set an alarm to go off an hour before or however long i choose) but for everything else i'm screwed!

i know someone like you. he smoked a lot too during the younger days, now he is having short term memory. whenever i am with him, i always remind him of things. i think you need someone to help you remember things. if youre by yourself, have a small notebook with you all the time where you can write things that you need to remember the minute you walk out your door. i think it will help. i also suggest that you start training your brain, get it back in shape. start with simple memory games and try brain foods...they might help. good luck. i hope you dont go back to that habbit coz its not just you who's affected but also people who loves you.

Here is a website that gives exercises on how to build your memory. I make lists to remind myself of things I don't want to forget. I also do puzzles and play games that stimulate the mind.

Pot seem to have bad effect on meantal health and that is the reason I wish the younger generation can learn from you to stay away from it.

Keep a journal for important things.
As far as keys, wallet & cellphones... have just a couple locations where you put them... such as in pocket or purse... or on dresser. NO WHERE else! That way you only have a couple places to look! It works for me!
