Some are, but they are such a small portion of global pollution that they're negligible.

Pollution caused by Chemical Fumes and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC): The source of this pollution are chemicals like benzene and formaldehyde. The fumes of these are constantly being released by our carpets, upholstery, furniture, draperies, household cleaning products, etc. Other sources would include cigarette smoke, construction materials, etc. Many of them have been identified as carcinogens.

I'm not sure, but maybe some perfumes can be in this category.

I think the amount of the perfumes themselves thrown in to the atmosphere is negligible. Sure, they can give you an allergic reaction, headache or a justified urge to pour a bucket of water on a person next to you in a movie theater. But it is the by-pass products of the industry that we should be concerned about. The animal testing. The misleading advertisement. And the brain-washed population who lives in today only and would die for something heavily advertised on TV.

THANK YOU for bringing up this issue! I hate smelling people's perfume and cologne stink. I think you're right; it's pollution...just like 'eau du cigarette smoke' perfume aroma, which is way tooo popular.
