I think the sentence was little bit harsh. 10 years for tax evasion is not right.

He would have been better off if he molested children or killed someone while driving drunk. I am not a big fan of Hovind, as he seemed to have a chip on his shoulder and was asking for them to come for him.

This is an excellent argument for a flat tax. The average American should not have to spend hours of their time and maybe hundreds of dollars figuring out what they owe their government.

A free people should not have to put up with IRS tyranny.

The amount of money he owed meant he was originally arrested and told he could go to jail for 280 years. That's a lot of back taxes.

But my favorite part was when he volunteered his parishinors to pay it for him.

...for tax evasion it is a tad harsh........for being the lying, stealing, self aggrandizing, con-artist dink that he is, 10 years sounds about right.

He's an unrepentant fraud to the core. This was the one area where his lies were illegal.
