The serpent tells the woman that she will not die if she eats the fruit of the tree: "When you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

What language did the serpent speak when he told Eve this? Serpentese? Why did Eve know Serpentese? She wasn't a serpent.

I have asked here about what language Adam and Eve spoke. One guy told me they spoke "Adamic". Why did the serpent know Adamic? Another guy told me that Adam and Eve spoke the language of heaven. How did the serpent know the language of heaven?

I guess when you're making up stuff like talking serpents, you might as well make up a language for them too. So here's my question for you devotees of talking serpent science: What language did the serpent speak?

Your sarcasm is amusing ( "Serpentese" heheh)
Your disgust is understandable since the Bible has been misinterpreted by many.

Here's my two-bits if you're interested.
I could be wrong but I believe that Hebrew was the first language spoken. This would mean that the serpent spoke Hebrew if it wanted to be understood by Eve.
Second-- In actuality, it wasn't the serpent speaking ( serpents can't talk I guess you know ) it was Satan-- the angel who turned against God thus becoming known as the Devil.
If you've seen a ventriloquist at work then you would understand how Satan used the serpent. He was just a lot better at it. He took control of the snake and , possibly speaking Hebrew, made it seem as though the snake was talking.
And.......that's my two-bits.
Take it or toss it ;)

The language and the knowledge of that language were lost.

An attempt by early man to reach heaven on their own was to build the Tower of Babel. God in his wraith (all gods have the manners and morals of spoiled children) then visited a curse down upon all the people involved. God's curse changed the once common language of man into many different languages. The people couldn't communicate with each other so they left and roamed the world to form their own communities where their members all spoke the same language.

Now this is the biblical fairy tale to explain why people in other countries speak different languages and the Tower of Babel was of no concern to God. Even with modern technology building a structure that reaches a height of more than 10 miles is impossible, not to mention entire distance to heaven.

The language of "Adamic" is part of the apologetic religious folk that are trying to make the bible conform to modern common sense and science. There really was no such language and if there was one then it varies by religion. It would be Hebrew to the Jews, Greek to the Orthodox Christians and Old World English to those that helped to write the King James Version of the Bible. Then the Islamic people would claim that it was a form of Farsi while the Hindi would claim that it was Indian, which the followers of Buddha may agree with.

Since the actual language was lost at the Tower of Babel then you might as well call it "Adamic" or even George.

I would think that he spoke the same language that Adam and Eve spoke. I like to call it the Adamic, or perfect language before they became corrupt. This is also sometimes called the language of heaven, our first language. Why wouldn't the serpent know it, and be able to speak it so we understand? Arn't we tempted in our own language?

The serpent is Satin, who is the devil. The serpent could have just simply been talking English, but the thing about that is that God created languages later (when people starting working on the Tower of Babel). However, I though God spoke English too when she spoke to Adam and Eve, so the devil might have just been talking in English.

Some people think the first language of man was Hebrew. If this is true, the serpent spoke Hebrew (with a Serpentese accent, no doubt).

Your sarcasm is a snigger ( "Serpentese" heheh) Your disgust is comprehensible by way of fact the Bible has been misinterpreted via many. here is my 2-bits in case you have an interest. i might desire to be incorrect yet i've got self assurance that Hebrew replaced into the 1st language spoken. this could propose that the serpent spoke Hebrew if it wanted to be understood via Eve. 2nd-- in certainty, it wasn't the serpent conversing ( serpents won't be able to communicate i think you recognize ) it replaced into devil-- the angel who became against God to that end turning out to be properly-known by way of fact the devil. in case you have seen a ventriloquist at artwork then you certainly could understand how devil used the serpent. He replaced into in order that lots greater effective at it. He took administration of the snake and , in all probability conversing Hebrew, made it seem as though the snake replaced into conversing. And.......that's my 2-bits. Take it or toss it ;)

I personally believe the serpent was Adam and Eves own mind speaking to them. We want to blame everything on a devil or the one called satan. Its our way of passing blame. We ultimately make our own decisions in everything we do. So again I think when God spoke to them and warned them they began to reason things out in their minds as to whether they would partake or not. I do not really believe a serpent appeared to them and actually spoke to them.

The Judeo-Christian story of Eden appears to have begun among the Jews. I have no idea when this occurred, but I believe Aramaic was the common language in Judea. (Many historians believe that Jesus and his contemporaries, as historical figures, spoke Aramaic). In order to be understood, I guess the serpent spoke Aramaic.
