Don't be depressed. It is okay to be a little overweight. However, if you feel you are more than a little overweight and are serious about losing that weight, you have to be serious about losing it too. So, what you need to do is eat no red meat(chicken and fish are okay). No and I mean no junk foods like chips and pretzels and dips and ice cream(unless it is soy ice cream). No, absolutely no sodas(besides you don't want to drink sodas which are the main cause of osteoporosis in women anyway), the carbonation and sugar content are extremely bad for you. Eat more fresh vegetables either raw or steamed. Eat more fresh fruits and drink fresh organic fruit juices. Drink about 6 to 8 bottles of fresh pure water every day. And, most importantly walk, walk at least two to 5 miles every day either before or after work or school or whatever. It would be more help if you walked early in the morning and again in the evening too. After about thirty days you will find that you have lost up to thirty pounds and anything left has been converted to muscle where you actually really need it. Good luck and stay happy.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
Get started today!

You need to occupy your mouth by keeping busy. Always keep moving.
Change your daily routine and distract your attention from food. Like any other addiction, you need to fool your mind by revamping your lifestyle. It's all about mental willpower.
When you're feeling stressed, go out for a walk and get some fresh air. That'll allow you time to gather your thoughts.
Develop an exercise routine and stick to it.
If you're going to eat, change your diet, and find some better snack foods.
I know, it's easier said than done, but that's what I did to quit a bad habit.

I am trying to drop some weight. What I've been doing is really watching the amount I eat. I'm not snacking in between meals. I'm trying to stop at each meal before I feel too full. I'm having fruit instead of junky sweets. I'm cutting down on soft drinks and sugary beverages. I'm becoming more aware of how much I sit and try to get up at work, walk around, and be more in control of what goes in my mouth.

Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic load. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin and healthy. Find out about fastest way to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad carbs, water retention and secret trick used by models to flatten their tummy before an event.
Reading a book will take you hours but the information on a post, taking minutes to read, is not enough. The webpage below has just enough to know what you need to know. Links page has gov. BMI calculater to find out just how much overweight you are (teens plug in your age to compare to others your age). Learn the science of how to nourish your body thin, instead of starving your body fat.

I just lost 5 pounds in a week from walking 2 miles a day. I didn't eat anything different and I didn't do it on the weekend. but it could be different for everyone. Especially since you've had a child, that tends to slow down your metabolism a little.

I recently lost a large amount of weight, 50 lbs, by actually eating more, but healthier foods. I would eat more often, about every 2 hrs, but instead of chips, I would have fruit or veggies. You should not let yourself get full, but don't let yourself get hungry either. Don't eat 2 hrs before sleep time. It should work.
I almost forgot: exercise too, but take it slow, pace yourself.
