Forget sq ft pricing for a small repaint like this. Sq ft pricing is used on new homes, apartments and projects.

On repaints, there is travel time, prep, drop cloths (protection) etc etc.

Steve B seems to be more in the ball park I would expect to pay a painter.

Not sure where you will find a good painter for $16 an hour that is a contractor. Painters helper maybe.

I've found an average rule of thumb is $50 per wall for 2 coats, not painting trim, average 8' high walls. Ceiling is counted as another wall.

That depends on your area. I have had quotes from $30 to $100 a room.

Some of that depends on number of coats, preparation and sometimes color.

Good Luck.

It's priced by the square foot, so it would depend on that and what painters get per sq. ft where you live. When I built houses (10 years ago) in S.C., it was $1.25/sq ft. (floor space) for walls and ceiling and trim.

Edit: My price includes material. We always let the painter get it himself. He gets better prices.
