There are two schools of thought on this and both are fairly simular.
In the first, you say "Bye" to the dog, simply. Leave the room for a few seconds. Come back, and say "Hi." Keep expanding the time until the dog gets more and more comfortable.
In the second, instead of Hi and Bye, you ignore the dog. I like the Hi and Bye style. You aren't sending the message of this will be a traumatic separation, but you are still alerting the dog that you are going out. Otherwise, he may bark looking for you.
Either way, you build his confidence by leaving for a few seconds then a few minutes. After a while the dog should be confident that you will return.

Yes my puppy does that. We are together non-stop for weeks, since I'm on winter break from my school still. Even when I was in school we were only seperated for such a short time.
I leave to go to my car and get something and she barks, then I don't hear her; however, when I come back people tell me she was whining like crazy and pacing around. She's always exciting for when I come back.
What I do, I go about and do my business. If she whines when I'm gone then so be it. If you cave into the whine and panic then she'll get the idea that she will have her way.
When you leave a room and your dog whines, say no upon entering and coming back. Do not cave in and do what your dog wants. Good Luck.

since u are his owner, he only feels safe with u and no one else, so he gets scared when ur not around. im pretty sure this can be treated by going to obedience classes. a little bit of obedience training can calm him down and get him rid of his fear. and this is normal for a puppy, so it's nothing to worry abt too much. just get him trained and he should be fine. if the training doesn't work, then go see a vet ASAP. good luck! :)

The old seperation anxiety routine. My pup does the same thing. Nothing has worked yet for us,other than being with him. The only advice I have gotten is to buy another puppy to keep him company.

Ignore it. Do not give any response when he does it and he'll grow out of it. Be patient. Any training you give your puppy at this age will pay off tenfold when he gets older.

how sad, just try to take him with you on walks and let him see other people. He is a baby that needs a mommy still, so he thinks that you are his mommy
