We are just as patriotic, we are just much more humble about it. The difference between our two countries is, Americans have to remind themselves every 5 minutes how great they are by shouting it out in front of the rest of the world (if you say it enough you believe it), on the other hand we know we are great and are secure about ourselves and don't need the constant reminder. We change our laws to change the times, they dont...look how well the right to bare arms has worked for them, and their crime rate...lady you need to get a grip.

I take exception to your premise that Americans are better. As an American I consider our Canadian friends to the north as brothers. Not lesser not greater. But the Canadian Government is far more socialistic than the American. Its sad but there you are. Both Governments need your prayers. The pendulum must shift to the other direction for our nations to heal and become more stable in every way.

You said it "in Canada we give way to many and they don't respect our country!" Since many don't have to fight for it they end up not appreciating it. Sounds like the welfare system in America, they don't respect us, it comes free, with no strings attached. Also called entitlement programs - nobody should be entitled to be lazy and gain from the work of others.

We aren't better at all. Each country has its strengths and weaknesses. I personally admire Canada for its government's pro-environment policies.
