When you greet someone in Switzerland do you hug, shake hand, kiss cheek, or what? I know Switzerland has many Italian, French and German heritage but what is the normal thing to do?

Well, depending who you meet... Between men shaking hands is the common thing, no question about. Otherwise, with a near relation, it's normal to kiss 3 times on each other's cheeks.

Of course, you might watch other situations between extremely good friends, specially within teenies...

You either shake hands or you kiss three times. Bon jour (French areas) or Gruezi (German) are common greetings. You should say hello if you enter a crowded elevator, store, etc., and you're also expected to say goodbye (Bon journee, for example). It's really rude not to do this.

The "normal" thing to do is to shake hands when you meet somebody for the first time. Only when you got to know the people very good the hug/kiss on the cheek is appropiate.
