you should have protein three times a day because unlike carbohydrates, protein doesn't stay in your body for a long term - it leaves with your stool

hence, you need to intake protein with your meals all the time - it helps with building your muscle too

after you workout, nutritionists recommend eating carbs because you need to re-fuel yourself, then several hours later, you can eat some protein with your main meal to re-build those torn muscles

You need to eat 1 g of protein per pound of body weight each day. Eat small meals with some protein in them. Drink a protein shake right before and after your workout. This will prevent muscle breakdown and lead to growth.
