Your mashed potatoes are not safe to eat. My family loves mashed potatoes so they never stick around long enough for them to go bad. Sometimes when we have a bunch of left overs we make potato cakes; you form the mashed potatoes into a pancake sized patty and dust it in flour, salt, pepper and then fry it until golden. It's yummy.

Yeah, 3 - 5 days would be the limit.
Don't forget that food loses it's nutritional value over time, so even if it's still good, it may not be giving you any extra benefit other than filling your empty belly!
Airtight containers work best.

I would only let them stay in the Fridge for a couple of days tops. After that they tend to get dry and crusty!

If my dad is in your house, you'd be lucky to have them overnight. In covered containers try to eat them up in a few days, a week max.
