I used to walk around work dragging my feet coz the floor was so slippy that I could barely walk properly without my feet flying out from under me.
It was in a hairdressers, and I was often carrying tea and coffee.
I thought it was probably ruder to look clumsy than to actually be clumsy.

If you're dragging your feet to irritate people then obviously it's rude, but if it's naturally how you walk or there's some reason for it then it's not rude, whether it's irritating or not.

It's not exactly rude. but it MAY be a bad haibt or it may be neurological problem. (sometimes people with back problems have foot drag due to damaged nerves in their spines..)
I do think it's irritating for the most part. If you can walk by picking your feet UP, then walk that way otherwise stay home and don't irritate others.

Usually when we see people having habits that are unusual,we should not consider them as bad habits and rude. These are actually their uniqueness.Imagine,if everyone have the same walking style, wouldn't the world be so much more dull and boring.
Staying natural and unique is the best way to live on earth.

I was taught that it is wrong to drag my feet when I walk, but I went to a very strict elementary school. If nothing else dragging your feet conveys a lack of self-confidence.

This is sort of a funny story but I was dragging my feet once because my shoes/sandals were too loose and I was afraid they were going to fall off. LOL.

Yes it is considered a bat habbit, as well as annoying and quite inappropriate. However, it isn't rude per say.
