referring to my other question...

you must think life is awfully improbable when every star you see has one if not many planets orbiting it.

and there are billions of stars in our galaxy alone, why even create other galaxies?

My, aren't we on a "crusade" tonight?

You paint with a broad brush, and pass judgment on a whole category of people worldwide, when you are using a small sample of the population to render your verdict.

Even in your previous question, the percentage of those who identified themselves as Christians that "consistantly [sic] deny that other planets probably have life on them" was 21%. Not all Christians, (not even the majority that answered) believed as you try to claim in this question.

I haven't run into any Christians who felt strongly one way or another. But I suppose it could complicate the Judeo-Christian doctrine a bit. It's suffered a few other shocks as well (starting with Galileo) yet recovered.

Mathematically, there are more than enough chances for life to develop (or have been "created") on at least one other planet. Planets have been detected around other stars. Proto-amino acids have been spotted in space. The odds look good.

The fact is, we don't yet have proof. None of the other planets in our system appears to have life, as far as we can tell. Until we see direct evidence of alien life, all the predictions and probabilities are simply speculation. It's not real until it's real.

I don't deny that there could be life on other planets. Why would God create such a vast universe and only put life on one little planet? It's kind of a waste of space. But there is no clear proof that there is life out there either. I'm waiting on the real evidence. Not some grainy picture of a UFO.

Actually I am a Christian and I do believe that there is other life in this universe. Just look at how vast it is. This small earth is but an atom is in comparison to the incomprehensible size of the universe. Why would God just create these this tiny group of humans when He is capable of producing so much more than us?

I don't disbelief that there could be life on other planets and I'm Christian. I take the scientific perspective on that; with all the billions of stars out there with planets orbiting them, there must be at least one with some form of life on it. Unfortunately, we may never know.

To believe that the all powerful God of the bible cannot create life on other planets is probably not very accurate, considering that all the reflective ways of His nature and wonder can be seen through creation here on earth. But the real concentration for most believers is how amazingly Gos has chosen to spend so much time & effort on us here on this planet. The original plan was for God to rule the earth through us (humankind) but because of sin- disobaying Gods way we lost fellowship with Him (our spirit died) but He promised to redeem us and has done just that by entering the human race living among us (with no sin) and choosing to die for us. because he was without sin He rose himself from the dead. So now our spirit can become alive to Him by believing in the sacfrice he did for us, in our place he died. I do believe there are probly lots of interisting creatures and things on other planets. God is present everywhere at once at the same time so He is definatly on anyones favorite planet and on those planets we know nothing about.

Targeting Christians & putting some label seems to be popular here in Religious & Spiritualty especially if the asker can seem to imply a Christian is a uninformed or quick to anger.

I'd sugesst if you have a vast knowledge of space you pose questions like this in a catagory more apt to get a scientific answer.

However, THIS Christian believes God made our universe's and everything in them which leads me to believe it must be perfect in all ways and not something I should question.

I don't deny that there can be life out there somewhere. And you will see by the link below that I am not alone.

Here are the words to one of my favorite Christian songs, by Sydney Carter. It is called Every Star Will Sing a Carol"

speaking as a christian, I can honestly say I do not hold this opinion, I believe anyone who thinks that God only created life on this one small planet is narrowminded. I mean if you look at the galaxy in all it's splendor who are we as humans to say we were the only things or beings worth being created.

I am a Christian and I'd be highly disappointed if there isn't life on other planets somewhere. Look up in the sky on a dark cold night. Look up at that band of the Milky Way...
You would have to be pretty selfish to think... .we are all there is.
