My credit line is $3000 on American express. i want to request for an increase of my credit line. what would be a good additional amount to request?

Don't request anything more than you can safely pay off within 30 days. Having credit is great... using it is the problem.

I would recommend that you wait for that invitation, in asking for the limit to increase can affect your f.i.c.a. score-beware credit card companies can be very tricky. Find out first if there is a penalty or an increase in a.p.r. rate.

$0.00. Continue to pay your balance down and they will offer to give you more credit. This way you will not have additional iquiries on your credit report.

Depends on how long you have had it, but I would ask for at least double.
