a comment on the person who commented that jimmy carter wasn't involved in any war..

I'm afraid everyone kinda ignores the cold war..for the obvious reason that it had no prolonged action or battles. in carters case...at least two submarines on patrol during that time sank, each carrying between 99-129 men to their graves. many more submariners were injured. It takes a pretty strong person to serve in the submarine program..and carter was in the nuclear program as an engineer.

Lyndon Johnson actually flew fact finding missions in the pacific during WWII. Bush senior was shot down in the pacific. Ronald Reagan made motion pictures for the army and army air corp, in uniform.

in short..the only one i haven't found to serve in some capacity was Clinton.

Actually, the correct answer is Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan (rose to Captain) and George Bush senior (fighter pilot in the Pacific, shot down...)

Now, about Junior's alleged "service." In the 1960s, the national guard was a well known dodge from actual miltary service - meaning a year in Vietnam.

Odd isn't it that the clown who flew antiquated circa 1950s jets around Texas (guess there was an impending threat that the Viet Cong might show up in Houston) is the military hero and the guy who actually went to Vietnam, got shot and won medals for service and bravery ended up the draft dodger....

If we spent $1.2 trillion on our education system instead of a complete bullsh*t war, maybe people would have the brains to see through all that garbage, but that tells you exactly why the Republicans hate spending money on education.

Bush Sr. was a decorated navy aviator that was shot down in combat in the Pacific. LBJ, Nixon, Ford, Reagan all had commissions (WWII) but did not serve in combat positions. Carter was a nuclear engineer in the navy, don't beleive he saw any action.

Dubah's military service is still questionable. Going AWOL from Ft. Rucker, Al. doesn't count for much.
