You can't choose where your body gains or loses weight, but you can control what you eat and how much you exercise.
If you don't exercise much, your body doesn't have much muscle. So any extra weight you carry is fat, giving you a soft tummy. Muscles burn calories 24/7, so less muscle means a lower metabolism, and makes it harder to lose the flab.
The best way to start out is to walk, ride a bike, or swim. Running is good if you can. Work up to 30-45 minutes, 4-5 times a week, working hard enough that you are breathing heavy. If you are just starting out, that is enough to build some muscle and get in shape. And it's free!
If you are already active, add some weight training every other workout, to build some muscle and tone your body.
Keep a food diary. Write down how much you weigh, and measure your waistline at its smallest, your belly at the navel, your hips, and your thighs. The write down everything you eat, and how much. If you aren't losing any pounds or inches after a week or two, then start adding up those calories to see whether you really are eating as much as you should.
People don’t always notice how much they eat, but they always notice whenever those jeans get tight. Writing everything down helps you track your progress, and eat healthier.

Really, the only way to burn fat is through cardiovascular workouts. You should be doing between 30 minutes and an hour at least 3 days a week. Good for you for not wanting surgery or pills--both are dangerous and not worth it. Metabolically, your body can only burn 2 lbs of fat per week, max (no matter what "the biggest loser" says). Combine cardio workouts with light strenght training and some crunches, and you'll start seeing results. Also, be sure to focus on your "core". Isometric exercises that strengthen core muscles will help build lean mass, which helps eat away at fat. Remember, you can't spot-reduce (just crunches will NOT help)--cardio is the single most important thing to burn fat off your entire body. So get that heart rate up as often as possible! good luck!

You have to change your outlook on life. Drink a lot of water. That's the first place to start. Then, get one of those exercise balls and a yoga mat. Stretching your body is a good way to begin with exercising. It makes your body a lot more flexible, and it gets rid of excess fat! The exercise ball is great to use when trying to do crunches. Crunches are the best way to build abs, but also the best way to reduce that unwanted belly fat that all women struggle with. In my opinion, it's impossible to "diet" or remain on a "diet". Just watch the serving portions, eat when you're hungry and stop when you're politely full. Never gorge. Also, eating 5 small meals per day, rather than just the three will really help curve your appetite. The biggest thing...don't count calories, carbs, fat grams and all that jazz. Just watch the serving portions. Try to cut out the "junk" food. Eat more veges and fruits. Don't drop red meat and bread all together. That's a mistake. Our bodies need carbohydrates to help burn the fat that we don't want - gives you energy! Don't forget to drink water, water, water!
By the way... try to increase your daily intake of things like avacados and nuts. Those have the "good fat" that your body needs to eliminate the "bad fat"....I have to disagree with the person that posted the "rat poison" view. When you're a baby, you don't have fully developed taste buds just yet. Why do you think for the first 6 months of life, they drink only formula? It's all their mouth and digestive system can handle! That's why when babies get a little older they try everything. It's a process of elimination. Not everyone likes the same foods. Not all babies like fruit. (My son is the perfect example here.) My 10-year-old daughter loves fruit, and has since she was an infant, but my 11-year-old son liked it when he was an infant and even into his toddler years, but doesn't like it now. (My husband corrected me on that one!)

The best way to burn fat anywhere is to do cardio...personally I think something that uses your upper body and lower....not walking.....Kick boxing is a great all body excercise or just some plain old aerobics. 1 hour of any excerside you can burn anywhere from 200-500 calories....that's a long time to exercise and should get you the results you are looking for. Also your dieting is a huge factor in losing weight watch what you eat and you calorie intake. I hope this helps.

Really the best solution is the oldest one: diet and exercise. Make sure to pick a diet you can stick to. Basically just avoid excess fat and sugar when possible.
As for exercise, if you want to burn fat the key is cardio. You want to get your heart rate at about 150 or higher for at least 15 minutes at a time. You can easily burn 500 calories or more per hour on an elliptical, treadmill, or exercise bike.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
Get started today!

Diets do not work. 99% of people gain the weight back. No one teaches the animal what to eat and what not to eat. He knows instinctively what to eat. Humans also have the same instinct. The way it works is just eat whatever tastes good and that will be healthy for you and non-fattening. That is why a baby tastes everything. So again whatever tastes good, is good for you. This is why you will spit out spoiled milk.
But wait!!! Man has the technology to create rat poison. It tastes like healthy food (good taste) but kills the rat. So man has done that to you. Note-- any food unaltered by man (uncooked) that tastes good, is good for you. So if you are stranded in the woods, that is how you know what to eat (cooking changes that). So man has created fake fruit. It tastes like fruit that exists in nature but it is terrrible for health, addictive and fattening called sweets.
So it is natural to like real sweets called fruit, like a baby does, but they have fooled you just like the rat. But they do not want to kill you. They want you to become obese so you will buy lots of their foods. This is called GOOD BUSINESS. Learn how to nourish your body thin, instead of starving your body fat. See site below.

Tummy tuck surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Forerunners Healthcare .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.
Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.
