I have a dachshund and I have been wondering how they can do this with such long bodies.

It's not the long back, it's the short little legs that make a perfect "stand" for them to sit on when they sit up like that. But it's not very good for their backs to do this very much, esp if they are overweight.

it's because the do have such long bodies that they can do it.

i have a dachshund named Yogi, and he can do that because he sits on his but and balances his weight on his but.
