Yes it does make sense. We have a job to do, so we can either half *** it and scrape by, or use the force that we have trained to do it the right way. Origionally we had it split up with most of the forces in afgan. and some in iraq which is why there were so many deaths in the beginning, now we can do it the right way. We are the mose elite fighting force in the world, Let's act like it and show it. And also the morale of the troops is very high...rememebr NEVER TRUST THE MEDIA!

Yes and no. Its something that should have been done back at the start. And alot more than what they are talking about sending. Look at it this way. We have around 130,000 troops in Iraq now. They are speaking of sending in 20,000 more. That makes 150,000. We have been at that level many times in the past in Iraq. They have fluxuated up and down in between 150,000 and 130,000 since this thing started yet it hasnt made any difference. My opinion? It would take at least 100,000 more to actually secure Iraq and to fully train the "New Iraqi Army". When this war started we should have went in with 300,000 soldiers and kept it at that level. It took that many boots to kick Iraq out of Kuwait back in 91, now how on earth did they think they could take the entire country of Iraq with half of that amount?

It does make sense but i think it is too late. If Bush would have done this sooner it might have helped. Most of the soliders that are involed with this have already been over before and they are tired and hav enothong left. I know first hand soem of them as of April of this year they will be there for one year and they just gor extended to stay longer. All of the soliders in this unit have already spent there year over there and for some of them this is there second ot third time being over there.

Sense? It's the single stupidest idea in American military history since Custer thought he could whip 25,000 Lakota Sioux with 300 cavalry.

And yet, it gets even worse. Here's what the cowardly media is not telling you about Bush's brilliant "surge" strategy - all the chimp is doing is bringing troop levels BACK UP TO WHERE THEY WERE IN DECEMBER 2005.

Now, how is that a "plan" or a "strategy" beyond fooling the bended knee sycophants into believing this is not about dumping Iraq onto the next president so Bush can assuage his ego into believing he didn't lose in Iraq. How many more Americans will die so this inbred piece of sh*t can continue to fool himself into believing he's right?

It make sense, at least now Bush has the ball to accept that he is losing in Iraq, with this new decision, this will clean the mess he made. Iraq is a big country with different tribes and to control and put order, you need big army.

Safety in numbers, I'm sure our guys that are over their sure won't have a problem with some back up. Yes, we are loosing life's, that's what happens in war, we may loose a whole lot more if the terrorists start invading our country.
Hey, this is the real world or do some of you think, turn the other cheek and it will all go away.

Actually YESSS!!! Its the only thing he could have done if he has any chance of the war ending sooner. I think cut and run is the doubtest idea. That only leaves America in a worst spot then when it started. As a political science major I can tell you all those politicians who are saying pull out right now are saying it purely for votes. Even they know its unrealistic!!!

Pray for the young men and women who have put their lives on the line...then find a community group that shares your beliefs and get to work on righting what is wrong in this world. Murder and pointless death have never made sense to me. We are a nation full of smart people. Certainly we can find a way to end this war, solve what is wrong without more death...

Yup.

Then again, 500,000 more troops post-invasion made more sense, but that's water over the dam, etc.

We're finding out why it took an SOB like Saddam to run the place. Sadly, when we leave, that's what they're likely to get again.

Yeah let's just cut and run and leave Iraq to Iran and let the terrorists have a country with resources to build wealth and power so they can attack us again in the future.
