I was filling out a form the other day and wasn't sure which one to put...I consider my hair basically brown, with just the hint of coppery reflection only when the sun hits it in summer...in winter it is less . People call my Mom's hair auburn bc it has hints of red...how do you know which is which? Thanks!~ :)

Out of the choices in your multiple choice question, I would say you are brunette. However, if I were to just answer the question of what color to call your hair without limited choices, I would say it is probably a chestnut brown or mahogany color. Now, as for your other question, brown is brown...brunette can be various shades of brown which can include some golden and coppery highlights...Auburn is a very rich reddish-brown color. My hair is naturally a very dark chestnut brown but I dyed it auburn for many years. Now, I have it dyed my natural color with a few bleached blonde streaks in the top of it. I had to change from the auburn because my husband hates red hair. Hope this helps you out with your "identity crisis". ; )

Jet black hair. I have truly dark brown hair and I believe dark hair looks better. I don't really like blonde hair.
