I have a friend named robert that sits by me in English class, I really like him, but we always talk alot in english, but we never make eye contact in the halls. I dont know if he likes me or not, what would you say to do!?

I try to make eye contact with him, but he dosnt act like I am there, and sometimes we see each other, but we exchange little words.

just live ur life normal and dont put in ur mind this things because it will make u confused all the time thinking about him
just try to be nice and express to him ur feelings and see his reaction

Make eye contact with him in the halls. Say "hi" or "how are you today". Start talking to him.

you should do something about it. if he hasn't already made a move on you. you should do it on him. us men are idiots and don't understand signs. but if you don't do anything about it..
then it'll stay excatly how it is now. nothing will come about if you dont do anything.
but at the same time he may be just having a chit chat and maybe not intersted at all. because he probably has other girls on his mind. most notably the girl across room. he could probably day dreams about her when he's in the hall by his locker. that's probably why he doesnt take an intrest in you because he probably does likes your company but doenst see you in that way.
although it's all speculation. it's mostly to mess with your mind. so be at ease and if you want to do something about it. then you should. unless of course you feel it's not worth it and you choose to be single or otherwise open to rejection. most guys don't really like shy girls. in fact the ones that do usually try to see if they are able to get with them and usually skip to the next girl that swiings by in their eye's.
Btw im really trying to mess with you mind so, do as you please. but do something about it.

I think that because there is lots of people in the hall ways and you get nervous, in your class there is probably not a lot of people. I say talk to him, don't get nervous, no one will make fun you.

In the hall just try to start up a conversation. If he makes a lame excuse to not talk, he doesn't like you

give some hint that you like him for example, if he ever ask you out... smile... and say yes... or maybe if he does something sweet towards you, give "compliments" to him. Find chances to go out with him. Chances are not to be found but created. You can say, "hey, since you're such a nice person helping me with bla bla bla... i think i should treat you some coffee after school! :D" things like these. it make you sound more approachable as well as it creates chances between you and him :) cheers.

he may like you but don't want to show it. guys are sometimes shy and almost always care what other ppl and or his friends think so hey may just not make contact with you outside some classes that ur close to him and not showing to much contact with eachother. h's probaly just scared of what other ppl might say. he likes you but afraid to show it.

of tell him he is a real nice guy and then if he makes a comment start a conversation with him and than soon ask him out about 5 minutes in the talk

i would say he probably likes you too....and i don't think you are being to shy if you were you wouldn't be talking to him at all...make eye contact in the halls smile at him Go for it !
