In a sense you can say that many Christians are close minded, but then that would only include SOME Christians because some will talk to you about anything.

I'm 51, have been a christian for 4 years and was raised in a christian home when I was a child, I've been and done a lot before becoming a christian by being saved, you don't know all Christians so your statement is some what silly, for one, being a christian, faith is what its based on,and as far as science, everything is science based, who created it, God,he was the first, ultimate scientist, people think of him as this magician like the wizard on the Disney movie with mickey mouse, a lot of people are very child like in their thinking about reality.....no, he's the almighty ...nothing that is made was not made that he didn't allow it to be so, and has anyone ever thought maybe he doesn't want anyone to know his secrets....and how he's created all this....why would he, then someone else may try to duplicate it and make a really big mess like some scientist do today, with just simple things

I'd be more concerned with those who spread hatred in the name of Christianity or whatever faith they just happened to be born into. I went to Church when I was younger, and did find them to be some of the most repressed, bitchy people ever. As regards science, there are many Christians who believe in a mixture of the two. I would still call myself a Christian, even though I don't believe in a Church as such. I believe that the Big Bang etc could have happened, but that the "days" mentioned in the bible, represented much longer periods of time. I'm not alone, and any religious text can be interpreted in literally thousands of different ways. People are more inclined to think they are right (and be self- righteous) with religion, but they are no different from other people really.

Not all Christians are closed minded. Not all non-christian are open minded. I am a Christian and I do believe in science as well. However many people have as much faith in science as Christians do in God. Many "scientific facts" are best guesses and not actual facts.
I am willing to admit that I do not know the answers to everything, but through my own experience and research I find the belief in a higher power more likely than random chance.

Close minded??? Do you realize in the eighties many evolutionists would debate Creation scientists, these debates would be public.. They will not do this anymore because they largely lose.. There is more evidence for creationism than for evolution.. At this point in time there are creation scientists that would love to debate an evolutionists... Try thinking about this... almost all christians have been taught evolution and this does not faze them.... Have you actually read a science book that supports creation science??? Did you even know that there are lots of them out there?? Maybe there is a reason evolution does not even faze christians... Maybe you should find out... Good luck..

I'm not - as a matter of fact - I try to explore as many facts as possible before I will accept anything said or done.

Some things are just innate however - morality for example - would exclude believing that abortion is ok.

Science is a "systemized knowledge derived through experimentation, observation, and study. Also, the methodology used to acquire this knowledge". Theories are introduced into the scientific realm all the time - but remain theories until proven. Any theory, therefore, that is claimed to be fact - is not science, but faith.

Christians are close-minded only to the Lord. As far as not accepting science, that would be impossible. I would not be on this e-mail site if I did not believe in science and technology.

There is a difference between being closed-minded and knowing the truth. I know that the Bible is the word of God, and therefore is true when it speaks about something, after understanding the context and purpose of the text.

Bc the Bible is the word of God and God doesn't lie, if anything contradicts the Bible, it's wrong. The Bible is the absolute authority bc it's God's Word.

If you're talking about evolution, that describes events from the past. We never see one kind of animal changing to another today. New species arising isn't evolution, since it involves the loss of access to the genes in the main group of animals. Evolution needs new information to arise, and this doesn't happen.

TURN THAT FINGER AROUND AND POINT AT YOU!

I have studied evolution and creation, can you TRULY say that?

There are NO science facts to prove evolution, but there are MANY to PROVE creation, just as the Bible states.

get the facts, the TRUTH would be nice. Stop falling for what these other suckers keep telling you. Are you a scientist? Did you make a discovery that proves evolution? No, you didn't, so stop saying that we are closed minded when you are the one who is closed minded sucker!

Are scientists closed minded?

They don't accept faith as real.

Prove the Christians wrong by science. I dare you.

Oh, wait, you can't.
