Hi. I only have $1,500 left in my car payment and also received this month's bill of $480. I'm wondering if I can just pay $1500 off from principal and ignore the bill. Thanks.

The final bill will alwyas be an adjustment, based on the dates when payments were received, to arrive at the final interest balance. You can send in the $1500, and you will receive a final bill with a payoff date. There will probably be a few dollars on there because of the final accounting.

You can pay it off anytime. Just be sure to call the company first before sending the check and ignoring future bills. You'll want the payoff amount as of the day they expect to receive the money. Payoff amounts change due to interest compounding and payments received.

Well, that depends on how you know that you have only $1500 left on your car payments. You will need to contact your lender and get a "pay off" amount as of a certain day. They will be able to tell you the exact amount you need to pay and the timeframe that pay off amount is good for. You will need to make that full payment within that time frame, or else your pay off will change and you will still owe them some money. The most important thing is, contact your lender.

if you call the finance company and ask them what the payoff is they will tell you. They give you the amount if you pay it within a certain amount of days
