re gernes deteriorating
gene longitivity is determined by the telemeres that sit on one end of the chromosonal strand ,one [the last one ] is destroyed in replication
longetivity can occur one of two ways self
repairing /self renewal of the telimere or a long quantity of telimeres,
for breaks as large as that put forward chunks of telimeres should be detectable ,
alternativly i can reason any other physiological means for the discrepency of/in the oldest texts

That theory makes a lot of sense. Sumerians even had a word for 'year' that actually meant one lunar month.

The problem with trying to change the patriarchs ages from years to months, is that you have them producing children at ages as young as 70 years (see Genesis 5:12) That would have made him less than six years old. Unlikely he was having children at that age...

Moses was 40 years old when he left Egypt. He would spend 40 years away from Egypt. But during that time he was not alone. In fact he married and had two children during that time. He returned to Egypt as age 80, and died at age 120. Again, if that was months, he was leading the exodus at the age of 7, and died at the age of 10...

So seems unlikely that the years were really months.

Why doe3ws everyone want to change what was described in the BIBLE? When GOD describes something thru HIS writers of the BIBLE, I read it as being HIS writings. I hope that others do too! Don't try to change what is written here. There are too many Denominations out there doing this. When we are told to do something please doin't change it as if it doesn't matter. IT certainly does matter!! PLease think b efore you speak. GOD is Listening!! Have a great Lord's Day. Read, study, and obey HIS WORD.

No, they were years. Our genes have been deteriorating ever since sin bc of mutations and so we have shorter life spans. If you look at the ages after the Flood, they were shorter, bc there were fewer genes to draw on after most of the ppl died.
