I dont personally think it should be banned... as then it would be even harder to keep it enforced (no underage actors, etc)

Hey many make their own porn. And have lots of fun doing it.

We have no problem with say porn for girls with waht you girls like say good looking hunky, rock star, bad boy firemen with lots of chocolate in a nice plush mansion or whatever your girlie fantasies are.
Its just girls are more feel stimulated so more into vibrators, guys are more visual.
When guys meet pornstars (see this) they are like 14 year old girls meeting boy band members and gettign autogrpahs and phtos with them and all friendly and fun... not sleezy... In fact the guys may be shy.
its only sex like couples do only lasts longer, generally more then one, oh and the positions are more open so the camera , lighting crew, director can all see the action and get the right angle (hence guy having to be er big, so can reach)
Whilst when with boy/girlfriends or husbands/wives they are more intamate, kissiy, huggy and close together.
Plus the girls get shed load of money for simply being girls and changing clohtes or getting paid to make out.
As for the hard core stuff. Ie real sex.
Think you should see reality shows like PORN WEEK on BRAVO channel or others, which shows life behind the cameras... The girls are not so poor and exploited as you think... Pretty relaxed about the whole thing... and normal and up for partying, and its just shagging.
Some like to be bad and naughty. Most likely with pranks on set and all going clubbing after.
Or bursting out laughing when the director shouts cut as in a real silly position.
Then you have situations like the guys is bursting to *** then somone shouts cut, Lunch break and the crew leg it to get the best tit bits at the food truck, inc the girl and the guys like hey guys 1 ,minute please... hey 30 secs will do.

Most people are getting laid anyway.
Sex is not an evil dirty disgusting thing neither is nudity.
The more open a countries society is to sex, nudity and porn (and by this I mean no animals, children or violence... spanking does not count as messing around) like northern western europe.
You find the nicer, friendlier, more open, lower teen pregnacy, lower crime they are as people are relaxed. Also more equality for women and gays
The more you hid things away, repress sex , say its discusting, degrading, immoral etc...
The more violent, repressive, hurtful, nasty, sexist, hompphobic the societies are like in the middle east, holy land , medieval england and europe and islamic countries.
Oh and far more teen pregnancies.
Also the more open and relaxed people are about it with open shops like Ann Summers for couples and Harmony or Erotic sex exhibitions where people see it all as fun and the girls all get vibrators and couples get couple stuff and nobody feels ashamed...
The less people see porn stars as bad girls ie sluts and stuff... And then its just oh your a porn star? cool? any tips for me and hubbie. Or the porn stars boy mates (being boys) may see the videos) but be cool about it... it would be they just have a hot mate who most likely has a boyfriend just like anyone else.

Is gay porn degrading to women? Who does gay porn degrade?
The whole porn debate is HUGE, but most people hide away from what is one of the most political subjects in our society. The only point of view we every seem to hear is the jolly porn producer "Its just a bit of fun" or the ultra-feminist view "All porn is disgusting, all men are disgusting" etc. There is a myriad of opinions in between these two views which never make it into the media to be discussed in a way that might establish some beneficial truths.
Personally, I think that anything that does not directly exploit the innocent is legitimate. But even then, "exploit" can have many different interpretations.
We need a proper debate about this.

Personally I don't think porn is degrading to women as a gender.
The women who partake in degrading acts are only degrading themselves and no one else.
If they want to continue then who are we to stop them? It doesn't bother me if they have no self respect because it doesn't reflect on me as a woman at all.
Besides, not ALL porn is like that, some is made especially FOR women with a more subtle and romatic approach to sex.
Someone made a very good point about gay porn - this doesn't even include women!
Hmmm what do you think about the girls on page 3? Are they any better just because they're not atcually having sex?

I believe that there are many different kinds of pron and that some is bad as well as demeans women a great deal. I also think that if it is done tastefully then it can be very exciting to watch with the someone special. I would not support the out right ban on it but I would support extreme regulations on it!

Woman decide to go in porn and act like whores so how can you say its degrading to woman they put them selves in it . Oh dear, you just don't get it hun. Porn is what gives the women power. You put a picture of a naked woman over a cliff edge, you'll get human lemmings aplenty!! It's degrading to the men, it shows our weakness, all out control melts away at the power of the female form. There is nothing wrong with the human form, or the act of sex, everyone does it, so why should it sicken?
Banning is censorship, you want to ban porn? I want to ban the bible. Should either of us have our way?

Identifying porn alone as degrading is a flimsy excuse to ignore all the other ways the degradation of women carries on...

i dont think its degrading to women, its their choice to be filmed. ive watched porn and i dont get sickened by it.sorry to say this but porn is never going to go away. everyone in their live has watched some porn and that includes you!

I do not look at it......ewww why would I want to sit around looking at a bunch of naked people and get addicted to it? It is just disgusting that people can do that. Yes, it is degrading to woman, and I do think that it should be banned.
I've never looked at it so I don't know if I would be sickened by it but I probably would.

I look at porn but alot of things go through my head like why do they get paid more than me and i worked really hard for a living. It gets me aroused but it must be dangerous with AIDS and diseases around. Do the 'beautiful people' actually do any work.
