Hi there,
Does your Murano try to pull you on when your trying to brake at junctions or when stopping?
I have changed 1 cvt unit under warranty because it was faulty. What you describe could be similar but because of good ole Nissan warranty, You have to authorise box removal and only then if they find any problems with manufacture then it is covered by warranty, please remember to have your service history available, let's hope you have followed the service schedules too!
Good Luck

You did not state if you purchased the Murano when it was new or if you purchased it used. Every vehicle made has roll or coasting specs. This measurement is to slow a vehicle when you no longer apply fuel. The old term was freewheeling. In short you can no longer coast and gain speed. This helps you control the vehicle going down hill and you don't lose control. I can't say for the Murano but in the Nissan's that I knew, the fuel injectors shut down stopping the engine from running. It felt like you put on the brakes. I don't remember if the shop manuals have this information or if you need to contact the factory Threw the factory rep. The three parts are "speed x distance x time" on a flat surface. The numbers are out there, you just have to find them. At that point you'll know if you do in fact have a problem. Can most Nissan Dealers do this? I know I could and would do the test for you. Sorry I don't work on Nissan's anymore. You may have to go outside the factory for help to do this test. Why? Mechinics work flat rate. I won't say anymore.

That seems a bit wrong. Nissan replaced the alternator under warranty on the 2003 Muranos. I almost never see any electrical problems with the Muranos. Just a radio CD player once in a while. We at the north texas area Nissan dealership have several coworkers that drive them. Other than odd shape hatch and not much cargo space seats up. Murano is a favorite In Texas traffic. Just go out and drive one.
