Is your sister your maid or matron of honr? If so just find a different dress for her. It seems like someone should be able to hymn one dress and the one that is too short should be able to have fabric added by someone as long as they know what they are doing. The only other thing would be to try and sell the dresses to a store or something or on the internet but that will take some time. What tdid the seamstress say at the dress shop? I cant understand why they are not helping with the alterations especially snce you guys did it in enough time. Good luck to ya!

Check your contract with the vendor to see what your rights are. I think that they should be held liable for not delivering the product you ordered and they promised. If the contract or receipt says that they are not liable for the product they deliver (which I doubt it does) I would threaten a law suit against the store. I have a feeling that might 'encourage' them to be a little more accommodating.
Besides that, I would start working on new dresses! You still have enough time obviously. If all else fails, go for the "everyone picks her dress but they are the same color" idea. Black is easy to do that way, and some of your girls may already have a gorgeous little black dress that could work. You could tie a ribbon around the waist in one of your wedding colors to tie the dresses together and tie in your wedding colors.
If you get stuck with the dresses, sell them on ebay! I've seen lots of them on there. There are also wedding classifieds web sites so someone else may need a dress like you ordered and the sizes might work for them.
Don't back down though from the store. That is ridiculous that they didn't deliver like they said. Also, if you paid by credit card, check with your credit card company to see if they can help you out. Explain that the dresses are paid for, but that they did not deliver what they were supposed to and will not help you. They can easily refuse to pay the vendor and give you your money back if they have a policy like that. I know American Express is really good with stuff like that. Good luck though, and don't let this ruin your wedding!

I hope that you can somehow make the shop take the dresses back as they did not make you the right dresses, however... if you DO get stuck with the dresses, I would take it to a seamstress and see if they can use the extra material from the dress that is too big and use it to add panels to the dress that is too tight. I have seen this done where they add a bit to each side right in the seams that run along the sides of the dress. When your sisters arms are down, these additions will not be noticeable.

I'm assuming that since you picked them up that you went to a local dressmaker. Did your bridesmaids not go for fittings? Did you pay in advance for them or at the time of pickup? I hope you have a contract! If so, they have broken it by not using the right fabric! If you don't want the hassle with the dressmaker then e-bay is a way to sell them. Also, craigslist.com is free and great way to advertise locally. Good luck! Congratulations on your coming marriage. Be Happy!

Have them try on each others dresses. If they fit, I would have the others altered to the shortest ones length. If they don't look right short, then I would try to sell them and at least try to recoup some of the money. Unless, you have floor length dresses, they will all be different lengths due to height. Find a really good seamstress and take the bridesmaids and dresses to her/him and they can give you some ideas.
If you absolutely hate them, try ebay or a consignment shop.

You need to involve a lawyer if you're financially able. If what the dress shop gave you is not what you ordered, then you're being taken advantage of. If you can't afford legal help, document everything with dates and names of people you dealt with and set up an appointment with a manager to discuss the discrepancies intelligently. If the dress shop is one in a large chain, better still. Go to the corporate level with your documentation.
If you go this route, put your emotions aside during the meeting. The more you rely on the facts, the more respect you will be given.
Whatever you choose to do, do not let them get away with this. This is a very important day-don't let them ruin it!!

Sell them on ebay or craigslist.com. You may also want to see if you live in a larger town if they have a consignment bridal shop and they can sell the dresses for you or give you trade credit to get different dresses. Goood luck in your weeding and marriage.

Did they try them on before you ordered them? I would talk to them again. See if you can exchange them for another size. Most places are open to exchanges. Read your recite. To find out. Talk to a manager or an owner.
You can sale them back to the store, sale them on ebay, sale them to a sale back store.
I wish you the best of luck.
