I am not into forcing my beliefs on anyone..but why are some people so sure that Jesus doesn't exist when it has been both historically and archaeologically proven that 95% of Bible prophecy has in fact come true. Even non-believing scientists have discovered this and can't deny the truths that have been discovered. Also, not to babble, but it clearly proves to me that when others down and disrespect the Bible and its believers, they are clearly in the wrong simply because of their lack of decency and the integrity to provide a polite response to the topic at hand and have a need to express themselves in an ignorant rude manner. How do you feel about this?

to mullah, you are making a pretty logical point, however, I'm not going to get into this, but why don't you research bible prophecy and the pope? Go to a reasonable, unbiased site to find information so you get truth and not some fanatical opinionated extremists who think their religion is THE only right religion.

I don't think that the REAL issue here is whether Jesus was a real human being or not. The REAL issue has been where is the proof that Jesus is God's son. In the here and now we have TV, radio, Internet. What did they have back then? Lots and lots of time to write. And write they did. Whether it's fact or fiction is the issue.
I also don't believe that someone that seems religious to me should be telling others that they are "clearly in the wrong" because that just makes you closed minded and forcing your beliefs onto others.
People should believe in what they want. Whether it's the sun, the moon, the earth, the stars, God, Buddha, or Allah. I believe that that is what makes us different. That is what this country is all about. Immigrants back in the day came here for their religious freedom. They wanted to believe what they wanted and not be forced to believe otherwise. It seems as if it has come full circle again. Nowadays all I see is religious freaks telling everyone else that are not part of their club that they are going to hell. The world is an ugly place right now. And no, Satan is not what made it ugly, it's thanks to the politics, lack of family values, lack of communication, crime, egos, and religious freaks.
Just waiting for the witch trials next.
I also didn't see any of your sources.

I have no issue with the fact that Jesus existed. I don't believe that he was either savior or son of God. Where is the documentation for 95% of Bible prophesy coming true? I suppose that you will find this rude, and I'm sorry for that, but the fact remains that disagreeing with your beliefs does not show that I have a lack of decency or integrity, as you so kindly and politely stated.

Sigh.

A critical mind would make you understand the fallacy of your arguments.

The bible includes some (few, but some) historical elements; just because something in a book is true doesn't mean it all is.

And as for prophecies.. they're so vague and you have so much history to match them with that it doesn't mean anything. You could do the same matching any fantasy book against history.

And given the behavior of many, many bible followers neither the book nor the follows deserve much respect.

Please read The God Delusion to better understand this.

Would have been nice if you had given a source for that 95% figure. But I have a question. Are those true propecies that were seen ahead of time in the scripture or are they retroactive prophecies where the scripture was interpretted in such a way to have prophesized what has already happened?

One of my favorite television shows is Stargate SG-1. If you haven't watched it, it involves an Air Force base called Cheyenne Mountain, in Colorado Springs. The main characters are a team of special agents who go to other planets and fight aliens by means of an ancient alien device called the "Stargate."

Now, get this: Cheyenne Mountain is a real Air Force base! It's really in Colorado Springs, and Colorado Springs has been proven to exist! That obviously means that everything else in Stargate SG-1 is real! The SG-1 team actually fought the Goa''uld spaceships over Antarctica (If you don't believe me, look it up! Antarctica is REAL!) The ancient Egyptian pyramids were really landing pads for Goa'uld motherships (Again, don't believe me? Look it up! The ancient Egyptians really built pyramids!).

So, the vast majority of Stargate SG-1 has been proven to be TRUE! It doesn't even take scientists - you can look this stuff up yourself (Antarctica, Colorado Springs, Cheyenne Mountain, even the Air Force - they're all real!). It therefore follows that Stargate SG-1 is not just a story someone made up - IT'S ALL REAL! I don't see how anyone can deny it!

There is a huge difference in believing that Jesus didn't exist and believing he isn't God or the son of God.

Few will dispute that he lived. Many will dispute his deism. Two thirds of the world's population do not believe that Jesus is God or his son.

I feel that Christians get the gold star for downing other people's beliefs in a disrespectful manner, no contest there. Hard to get much ruder than "Go to hell"

I agree, that it's mighty hard to deny His existence. People with absolutely NO religious "brownie" points to score have proven that. Now the question each individual must answer is, Was Jesus actually God incarnate? That, unfortunately cannot be proven by history records, but only by the Faith each needs to excercise personally.

God Bless

I belive jesus did exist, I do not believe he was the son of god, he was just another guy who ran around claiming to be the son og god just like many others of the time.
Whenever I get 100% proof the bible is true I will beleive but at the moment fairy stories like Noah's ark and Jonah are hard to swallow

Shows a lack of knowledge---about history, science and the Bible---but they sincerely believe what they believe and Christians here express themselves in an ignorant rude and arrogant manner also.
