We are taking our teenage son to Washington DC in April. I'd like to find a rental condo or "suite" hotel that would allows us to have separate sleeping spaces and a small kitchenette. I prefer in the city and/or Georgetown and under $300/night. Any thoughts?

Look at Georgetownsuites.com
I've not stayed there, but hear they are real nice.
They advertise the first night "starting" at under $185, and the 2nd night is "the outdoor temperature at the time of check-in".

April is a fantastic time to visit DC.
Every highway median all over DC is just full of daffodils, etc. Azaeleas everywhere. The town just lights up in the Spring.
Driving over Key Bridge, and out George Washington Parkway, towards McLean is a lovely drive in April.
And, while you're in McLean, try Evans Farm Inn restaurant,
or you can go over to Langley, to visit the CIA headquarters......
okay, maybe not that last part.
Enjoy your visit!

Try The Harrington. About 1 block away from the Mall, walk to everything. Harri is an older hotel, but we just love it! They do have some family rooms, that have 2 sleeping areas, 2 bathrooms, and small kitchen. (Maybe just a microwave and refrigerator) We are going this year and taking our grandchildren.

Downside, there is no swimming pool or teen club, they do have a cafeteria style restaurant for breakfast.

Try looking at Travelocity.com
You get to pick the hotel, and read reviews from people who have stayed there before. It's a great heads up of how the hotel will be.
Extended Stays are nice and they have a kitchenette.
Amerisuites have kitchenettes too.

My favorite hotel for that kind of thing is the Residence Inn. MY family and I stayed there long term (about 3 months) and they had free dinners.. free breakfasts.. a full kitchen.. a seperate master bedroom...
But if you want a fancy hotel in the center of DC.. i'm not really an expert..

If you go to the lodging tab on this site you can book a condo.
ANd if you prefer to just get a hotel, the deals on this site are cheaper than those big name places most times.

Good Luck!
