why does the still caps i paste to paint turns to all black when i saved it?

everytime i try to capture still photos using the printscreen button and paste it to paint, it turns all black once i saved it. how come? thanks!

I'm assuming you're referring to capturing the image on a movie file. Depending on the movie format, you may be able to do a screen capture by pressing ctrl + i.
This won't work on every format but hopefully you have some joy!
