They will not release that information till family has been notified. I just hope it was quick and painless. God rest their souls and Thanks for their sacrifice for our nation.

Usually the names of soldiers injured or killed in Iraq are not released to the press until the family has been notified. Chances are if it were your father, you would know. Or someone in your family would already know. As for units, i did not hear, but often units are released but not names. I wish for a speedy return of your dad, and thank you to you and your family.

I was out and about in the town of Mt Clemens Michigan and I ask about 12 young people ( Ages 18 to 30 ) and no one cares or even read about the aircraft being shot down. In fact the young people were asking about which club is the best to hang out and have fun. No one cares. Only the friends and closed loved ones.

The only thing I have seen released so far is that it was a Blackhawk and it apparently had technical problems before going down.

My daughter was flying today also, so I have been watching pretty close.
