ive had my braces for about 9 months now.... my top teeth were fine but the bottoms were a little crooked and i have an overbite that isnt bad.... but i was wondering on how long you had your braces on?

No two people have the same mouth. Everybody gets their own personal treatment plan in orthodontics. I know everybody wishes that they could get them on and take them off the next week and have perfectly straight teeth. It'd be nice wouldn't it? I wore mine about 19 mos and that was over 35 years ago. Today they are doing so much more extensive work. Back in "my day" they pretty much just straightened the teeth and bite. I probably needed an expander but didn't get it. So sweetie, your 9 months into it now and don't have a lot longer to go probably. Another year or even one and a half, won't really hurt you as long as you get that perfect, beautiful smile that you and your Orthodontist are working so very hard at getting! You do your part and let him do his, you can't rush perfection, you'll get there before you know it! Good luck!

The average time that most people have braces on their teeth is 24 months (2 years). Depending on your individual situation, it could be shorter or longer than that. I had mine for almost 3 years. It all depends on your mouth and what your orthodontist is trying to accomplish.

My teeth were really crowded and I had a deep overbite. I wore my braces for a little over 4 years; I wore a headgear for about a year as well. I'm so glad to have them off!

FOUR YEARS, god it was terrible, i finally got my top braces off but my bottom ones are still on and my bottom teeth have been perfectly straight for a long time

i had vampire teeth and my braces took about 2 years and 2 1/2 months. if u want to be sure ask you orthodontist

Whell ask your dentist because everyone has a different mouth,i have to have my braces on for 3 years but it depends how bad your teeth are.

usually it is at least 2 years to get to the condition that it looks fine and the teeth are straight but sometimes it can take longer depends on the procedure- is it done with a head gear, elastics or other methods it also depends if you also had to pull out your teeth and on the orthodontist

I have had my braces for 1 year now, and my dentist tells me that I need to have them on for 3 years.
