Any plant in the house is good, the larger the better, produces more oxygen. Put some baking soda around in places where people can't see it. Clean carpeting and wash curtains or dry clean as needed. A small pot of simmering apples and spice potpourri, especially cinnamon covers odors. Cigarette smoke is one of the worst to get out. Tell them to smoke outside. Good Luck

I had an elderly friend who would clean the air after a party by doing this: She would heat up a cast iron fry pan and when it was hot pour in a cup of vinegar. Sometimes she added cinnamon, clove or ginger to it for aroma. Then she would walk the pan through the house, allowing the vapors to waft all over. It actually worked pretty well.

I agree with Prof Kevin. I use a lot of baking soda. Because I have 2 cats and a husband with health problems, I have to be VERY careful about toxins.

I also use vinegar for cleaning glass, and for removing mineral deposits from my coffeemaker and tea kettle. And when combined with baking soda, for clearing my sink drains.

I've heard a lot of plants are good for clearing the air inside a house.

Good luck!

Open all the doors and windows. Keep them open for about 48 hours. Wipe down the surfaces with good old soap and water.
