You don't - the CMOS is not a Windows XP feature.

Press F2 or DEL at system boot - it will tell you on-screen. Check your motherboard manual for more information.

I suppose you want to adjust some system settings. CMOS is a part of the motherboard that maintains system variables in static RAM i.e Clock,Date etc. To enter the menu you have to enter DEL key during the POST i.e. The screen that appears as soon as you hit the power button. Be careful when you mess around there esp if its a notebook computer, since wrong setting is BIOS can crash your system temp. By the way in notebooks its F2 to enter BIOS menu where you will find CMOS settings.

The cmos setup has nothing to do with windows XP! Its in your computer bios! Watch your screen during bootup and it will tell you what key to hit to enter the bios. Usually the delete key but some PCs use others....

You don't .

To get to CMOS, switch off, switch on again, and press DELETE or F2 as the computer warms up. When XP starts to load, it's too late
