I dont want my daughter just going to any normal public school. Where I live the funding for the public schools is really poor, bare minumum, teachers cut, after school activities cut, they even joined the sports teams with the rival school to save money. Is Private school a better option for more choices, and more money for education?

I would say, most private schools would be a better choice. I have gone to a private school my whole life. I wanted to go to a public high school but my parents wanted private, so I'm staying.

I'm not totally sure how public schools compare to private schools but I hear good things about private schools. Many people that transfer from public school to private school really enjoy the private school experience.

Some private schools have great after school activites, great sports teams, great teachers, closer attention, smaller classes, and overall a better educational and social experience.

Again though, not all schools are the same so look around. Some peopel might say they are expensive. I'm sure all schools offer financial aid to those who need it. We use financial aid. Usually there are ways to get around everything. How important is your child's education to you?

Who knows! Maybe your child may become very rich and "repay" you later in life!

While it is great that you care about your daughter's education, a rarity these days, a private school is not necessarily the best option. Of course I may be biased, being that I am a public school teacher; however, you will find that even in the poorest counties, in the most rural of areas, you will find the richest diversity of teachers and students. Also, public schools are generally in the forefront of educational research and practice, so your daughter would receive the most current, research-based instruction to help her be successful.

Private schools may offer smaller class sizes and more rigid curriculum, but you may lose the benefit that a committed teacher and a diverse educational experience will offer your child.

Take a trip to a public school as a visitor and you will see that most teachers educate because they have a life-long love of learning. Ask your daughter how she feels and you may see that a public school is the best option for both of you. Thank you for reading this far :o)

Everything depends on the schools. I attend a private school because the public school I attended refused to offer me the education I needed, causing me to become bored and eventually give up on the work they gave me. Had I gone to a public school, I would've had a more flexible course load, since my school has strict graduation requirements (it is an accelerated college prep. school where 100% of the graduates attend college), but I know I have a much better education attending my school than if I had stayed at public school, since the school is more focused on academics and what the students learn than the bonuses the teachers receive. What you need to do is research the schools in your area (I wouldn't worry about tuition right away because a lot of schools will work with you if you have problems with tuition) and find which one is right for your daughter's needs.

Private schools im sure you know are more expensive than public schools because they don't receive funding from the state, but i believe the a private school is a better alternative for your daughter than the public schools available. for one thing, the curriculum is generally more productive and the schools are better equipped to prepare your student. They also have better teachers who are more prepared to spend time with students since the student/teacher ratio at public schools is smaller. Also one of the benefits of sending your child to a public school is they are less susceptible to lets say the less refined population of your city. And considering the situation of the public schools in your area, i think private schooling would be a much better alternative.

Public schools seem to have changed for the worse in the last 15 years. Sad. I went to public schools all the way through high school and it was fine. (my parents couldn't afford private school). It really doesn't seem that way anymore. (although the diversity in public schools seemed to make a difference in my business career, as far as being able to relate to everyone)

Although I don't have kids yet, both of my sisters have their kids in private schools and yes, there is a noticable difference.

It, of course, depends on what you can afford. One other thing is that children can learn a lot at home from their parents (that's kind of how it went with me). My dad was a math professor, so he drilled me in math constantly.

Good luck!

Sure if you can afford to pay. Usually, if you can afford to pay you can also afford to move to a better school district.

Good Luck.
