Of course not; life is too short. It is, however, sufficient to study the question of the existence of god, without which most religions are pointless. It can reasonably be concluded that no evidence of such exists, nor is there any evidence that god does not exist. It follows from the latter (provable) that no theory of god's existence can have any consequence in the real world. There is no point in believing in anything that is purely hypothetical.

I think it's lot more complicated then that. That would be like saying before we chose our religion did we study all other's to pick and choose one. I think some people believe Atheist is a bad word and it's just a different belief.

I have to agree with Derek.... Sometimes you get tired all of the Bull you listen... I visited many religions and studied their beliefs, None where able to prove all the theories and insane pretends. And after many disappointments I realized that I wasted my time studying something that never happened.

It would take decades, if not centuries, to study all religions. But after you've studied several and understand what they have in common, it's easy to dismiss them all as unnecessary.

To return to an earlier analogy, you don't have to taste feces from every type of animal before deciding that you don't like eating poop.

Didn't have an ex religion.

I studied the abrahamic monotheistic gods in relation to the questions I was asking about existence. He lost.

Thanks for your patronizing and somewhat hateful concern.

I looked into other religions, but didn't find any more evidence that they were right than I had for the one I was raised with.
