don't look on eBay.unless you can go and have a look at the car before and know what to look for. one of my friends just bought a car there and didn't see it before. broke down within a week. seller was not interested.
i bought my car at an auction. there are a lot of cheap and nice cars. watch out for that they still have MOT for a little bit.
and make sure u know what fees you have to pay on top of your bid. I paid £120 on top of my £750

You can get a really good car for £500-600 at British Car Auctions in Manchester near Belle Vue. Other auctions will be just as good. You need to know a little about cars though but you can usually spot a good one from a duffer.

Where in the country are you? I've always got decent cars coming and going at that price. Main dealers wont sell them as they are too old so they either go straight to the auctions or traders like me get first refusal on the decent ones.

Loads - look on autotrader (or ebay). If you are not fussy there is a lot there but you are looking at cars over 5 years old

you'll not get a dealership car for that price. Look in your local paper, but you pay peanuts, you'll get junk. Buying cheap is a false economy
