The 13th Commandment says, "And thou shalt not utilize any medical treatment that man has invented, even though I gave him the wisdom to do so." Unless you're a Christian Scientist or Scientologist (are there other kinds?) that don't believe in medical treatments, sure you can (and I have no idea where these groups got their information). God gave man the intelligence to invent these treatments for his own betterment. Depression is a physical ailment, a disease, just like muscular dystrophy or heart disease. It is not a failing on your part to have a disease like depression. It is a miswiring in your body and God would not want you to suffer through this all on your own.

Why wouldn't it be ok?

I'm Christian and take them. There are some denominations that may not believe in modern medicine, preferring faith healing or having concern about the drug's contents...but that's definitely not the majority.

Absolutely - clinical depression is a disease and therefore we can use the technology that God has given us the minds to create to treat it. Do you refuse Tylenol for pain?
An depression is very serious, God wants you happy and functioning in society, so use what He has made possible to keep you healthy

'Blessed are thou, O Lord our God, who has made me the way he wants me.'

If there is a God he has bigger things to worry about that whether you take advantage of the blessings of medical science (always assuming - and this may not be true - that antidepressant pills are what you need right now).

But the old truism still holds: that is, if your depression allows you any energy at all, use it to help someone else. Take good care of yourself, please.

Yes. Why would it be wrong?
Even Scripture says to take some wine (medicine back then) for your stomach's sake.

Christ never said it wasn't. But he was very careful to warn us not to abuse our bodies.
