Why don't people believe in God when history rings with His name?

Question

there is proof over thousands of years that God exists, papers written back to when it all happened, the great flood (water smashed pressure out of rocks and bones, and noahs ark can still be seen in the mountains of Turkey), the tower of babel (that's why we have over 6000 languages now), and that people who believed in God were succesful. why do people still doubt He is here?

Yes, history is replete with the names of thousands of gods invented and worshipped by men who had no explanation for the mysterious things that happened in the world. Floods, earthquakes, landslides, solar eclipses, even ordinary events like childbirth and the blooming of flowers were unfathomable to ancient people without science; so they believed that these things were caused by gods, demons, spirits, and other entities. The stories they made up and passed on to their children were oral traditions, at first, then later were written down on clay tablets and papyri, and then the few writings that survived were made into books. But you know, just because something is written in a book, does not mean it is true. Do you believe just any old thing people write in a book, just because the three-letter word "God" is in it? Well, neither do I, and that includes the Bible.

Are you freaking kidding me with this? Don't you understand that the Christian God has only been believed in for five percent of the time that humans have even existed? Can't you comprehend the fact that just because a verifiable event from the Bible occurred, does not prove that the book is divinely inspired? Can't you remember the very simple fact that the Bible is full of errors, contradictions, and mistranslations?

I am SO sick of Christians assuming that their god is the only one! I don't CARE if it's part of your religion - that doesn't make it true! For TENS OF THOUSANDS OF YEARS before even the OLD Testament, humans believed in multiple deities, female deities, nature-based deities and spirits. Christianity is like the Branch Davidians compared to the rest of humanity's spiritual history - loud, violent, rigid, and doomed!

There are hundreds of books and articles detailing the existence of Huckleberry Finn as well. People writing ABOUT a literary character is not the same as writing about discovering evidence of a being.

A mountain that looks like a boat is not proof that "the ark" was real, nor is there evidence of a world wide flood.

Believe in your delusions all you like sweetheart. Just don't drag the rest of us into it.

Which name? Using God (capital G) as a sirname has only been in practice for about 1650 years, since Bishop Ulfilas first did it in his Gothic translation of the NT.

MMMk said it. I think the other reason is because they do not want to admit there is a holy just God the Bible talks about. Then they might have to face Him. Then they would have to repent because they have lived according to their desires and have not pleased God.

There are also other studies about how there is not a god. And that is sucsseful too, so you cant hate on people who dont believe in god they arent satan's children.

THey are blinded by Satan . Satan fell because of Pride. So it is not hard to see why many who do not believe in God are quite full of pride and cannot seem to open their eyes. It even says in scripture that Satan has blinded their eyes and their heart. Only the Holy Spirit can take the scales of of their eyes.
