I asked this question because I believe that some of them abuse their power and there is no disciplinary measure really given to them. There is a judicial review board (made up of other lawyers and judges) that basically does nothing more than sweep the situation under the rug and tells you not to talk about it. I was wondering how many people think that they really are held to the same standards as you and I. Oh, and just because you can vote someone out, doesn't mean the next person is any better. Matter of fact nobody has run against the judge here for the last 2 elections won by default, and since there are no term limits he will be there until he dies.

In essence they DO have immunity.

They absolutely should be held accountable. Those who by their own choice occupy positions of trust or authority over others should be held to a high standard of conduct. Only then can those that they oversee believe in the fairness of their judgements.

Why would you even ask that question? Judges are elected or appointed to the bench to enforce and administer the law, so why would you even consider asking this question. No one should be above the law, especially if their profession has them in a position to judge and sentence people who break the law. No immunity, in fact because of their professions they should be treated more harshly for violating the trust of office.

Having some more information about particular judges who you think HAVE broken the law would help us to answer this ridiculously obvious question.

no, nobody is above the law not even the president. Sometimes people in "higher places" who are chummy with people higher up get by with an impeachment or let off easy

Absolutely not! Just because they sit above us in the courtroom, and look down on us working-class grunts doesn't make them any better than us in any meaningful way. "Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely."

Law and justice are often mutually exclusive.
