I was antiwar before the Iraq criminality. It has made the Bush regime even less humane. My heart goes out to all the people who have lost loved ones for a short time or forever.

bopper77, let us consider our nation a bus full of people, along for the ride. The president is the drive...God help us. Now the passengers are suppose to be telling the driver where to go, but he doesn't listen. He instead decides to drive the bus through a shopping mall filled with innocent people and killing many of them. Now he does manage to kill a few bad guys in the process. How do you figure we the people, the passengers are responsible for this mess? In 2003 President Bush claimed 'Mission Accomplished". At that point and time, if he were right, the war should have ended and we should be there only as an extended police force, controlling riots and so forth. I am 100% American and patriotic to the end. I support our troops, but not the war. Who are we fighting there now? We can't kill them all. They will be there after we leave, we are not the world police. We do not have any more right going into their country telling them how to govern their lives than they have coming into ours doing the same. These actions belong to the president/ dictator Bush, not representative of the wishes of the American people. I hope he will have to answer for his role in all of this, but I am tired of being bashed as an American for the actions of a fool!

I feel like the war in Iraq is a little drawn out... and it hasn't affected my patriotism... I didn't feel like there should have been a change, and I still don't.

My patriotism is in no way influenced by Dubya. I disdain the Iraq war, support our troops, and neutral to the president.

i think of our troops are skilled to be deaf to the media and visual attraction of patriotism. it could have a small effect on the same time as distant places, yet while they arrive house is while it hits the toughest. our very own elected officers (the folk we chosen to make our judgements) supported this war. turning tail and opposing it earlier it extremely is performed is poor, and borderline treasonous, as all of us desperate to place our boys in threat for a competent reason, then desperate "oh wait, nah, we screwed up, only leave that mess and are available living house without ending the activity" embarrassing.
