Ive heard you could use a rubber self liner, i aslo have seend car seat mats ar babies r us. I have a friend who uses a towel instead but not sure if that is the safest.

Here is a link with lots of car seat covers. I like the pink camo ones, myself (kidding!). There are several great options here.

The best car seat covers are lined with rubber, then harder on the outside to stop the carseat from sliding and to protect your new car's interior. Babies R Us does have a good one from Prince Lion Heart for around $24.99. Your best beat is to get your car seat re-installed with the mat so the technician can make adjustments needed.

The best thing to use is the rubber shelf liner. (You can try to find one that matches your seat). It is thin enough that it won't interfere with the function of the car seat but "grippy" enough that it won't allow the car seat to slide around. (Which a towel will do. Please tell your friend to use the shelf liner and NOT a towel) A lot of those seat mats you can get in stores are too thick and don't do much to keep the seat from sliding around.

This mat actually won't slip off of the seat inside of the car. It is called the Kiddopotamus Duo Mat.
