Hate it hate it hate it. Everytime I can smell cigarette smoke on him I get angry and sad. He has two small children as well and he tells me that he used to get so mad at his dad when his dad smoked (his dad is a nonsmoker now). He has tried to quit but never continues with it. He knows how I feel about it but doesn't change it.

He started smoking just before we had our 1st son. We had been married for a few months when he started smoking the "occasional" cigar. Then the "occasional" cigar turned into a pack of cigarettes every few days. Now he smokes two cigars a day.

I feel the same way. I am only 11 years old and my mom smokes. (she is stoping now) I now exactly how you feel! I used to feel the same way but now that my mom is not smoking I am fine. I think you should have a nice talk to him about what you really feel like. If you really wnat him to stop then you can go on some websites and check them out. GOOD LUCK!

He cannot help it. Tobacco is a serious addiction. Some doctor's say it is more addictive than heroin. As a former smoker and smokeless tobacco who has been quit for about four years I can tell you it was a long road. Please understand that patience and compassion go a long way to help someone quit. Don't NAG him
or CATCH him at it. After my wife started getting on me I started "sneaking" One day my son asked me to quit and he melted my heart. I went to this website www.mintsnuff.com they have a product that can help. Also nicotine gum and lozenges are good. Trust me he probably wants to but can't. Good luck

there are different ways to quit and they dont work for everyone. he has to be the one to decide that he has to quit. i have heard of men quitting after their wives told them that it was either quit smoking or that she'd leave him. also joining support groups helps and you could talk to his doctor to see what his doctor thinks would be the best way for him to quit. but i think that just having your children tell him that they dont want him to smoke and that they want to have their father around 20, 30 years from now. i wish you luck.
